Five lucky candidates in Taiwan were selected to enter the national TV competition final in which actors are chosen for the remake of the TV drama "A Dream of Red Mansions" in Beijing.

Jointly held by Beijing TV and the famous TV variety program "Guess Guess Guess", the TV competition on Saturday night was hosted by Jacky Wu and Hebe, Selina, members from pop group S.H.E.

Famous TV host Tsai Kang-Yung and veteran TV producer Wong Weizhong were on the judging panel.

Since the start of the show last December, more than one thousand people from Taiwan have applied to join the competition.
