Longmen Grotto near Luoyang, in central China's Henan province, stands illuminated in the darkness of the night after a lightening project completed on Sunday, Apr.1, 2007. The 3-year-long projects added 2,886 lamps, giving a mystical appearance to each of the 100,000 buddhist sculptures scattered in the grotto's about 2,000 caves. Tourists can visit the famed grotto during the night after final adjustments finish on April 7. Longmen Grotto is one of the three most famous and valuable grottoes in China, the other two being the Dunhuang and Yungang Grottoes. [Photo: photobase.com]
