South Korea and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) agreed on Tuesday that South Korean President Roh Moo-hyun will make an overland trip to Pyongyang for a summit with DPRK top leader Kim Jong-il on Aug. 28- 30.

The agreement was made after a one-day preparatory meeting for the summit between the two sides in DPRK's border city of Kaesong.

Roh will travel to Pyongyang on the road linking Seoul and Pyongyang with special vehicles from South Korea, said South Korean Vice Unification Minister Lee Kwan-se after finishing the preparatory meeting with his DPRK counterpart.

During the preparatory meeting, the two sides discussed the agenda, itinerary and other details of the Aug. 28-30 summit, Lee said.

South Korea will send a 202-member delegation, including 50 reporters, to Pyongyang, Lee said.

In the first inter-Korean summit in June 2000, South Korea sent a 182-member delegation to Pyongyang.

In preparation for the summit, South Korea will send a 30- member advance team to Pyongyang to discuss details of the summit on next Tuesday, Lee said.

The two sides will hold another working-level meeting to discuss communication, report and security issues, Lee told reporters.
