Iran's Khamenei: not to Bend over Nuke Issue
[ 作者:  加入时间:2007-09-04 10:26:31  来自: ]

Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei vowed on Monday that his country would never succumb to any intimidation over the nuclear program, saying Tehran would use "wise" methods to defeat interferential Western powers, state media reported.

"Iran has never launched aggression in the past 28 years, the Iranian people would not bend to any intimidation over the nuclear issue and would resist intimidation," Khamenei was quoted as saying by the state radio to some students.

"We will use wise measures to defeat the arrogant powers," he added.

Khamenei made the remarks just days after U.S. President George W. Bush warned that Iran's continued nuclear program could spark a "nuclear holocaust" in the Middle East.

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad in the past days also showed Tehran's unabated decision to develop "peaceful nuclear technology".

Ahmadinejad said last week that Iran was already a "nuclear country" and more than 3000 centrifuges had been running for the country's nuclear program.

The United States has never ruled out the possibility to launch a military attack against Tehran's nuclear facilities.

Western media recently reported the U.S. had finished a plan to destroy Iran's military capability in three days if Tehran doesn't halt its nuclear program.
