A total of 96,301 polling stations will be opened for voters in the Russian presidential election on March 2, Chairman of the Central Election Commission Vladimir Churov said at Tuesday's meeting with students from Russian regions.
It is the largest number of polling stations opened for elections, Churov was quoted by the Itar-Tass news agency as saying. That means there will be no queues at the polling stations, given a high turnout expected, Churov added.
Russian citizens staying abroad can vote at 364 polling stations opened in 142 countries, Churov said.
Around 300 international observers who represent 32 international organizations are expected to arrive in Russia to monitor the presidential election due on March 2, he said.
More than 200 international observers have already been accredited in Russia, he added. |
