Ho Cheung Pang, the director of movie "Exodus", arrived in Spain with the lead actress Irene Wan, to attend the competition in Spain Film Festival, Hong Kong-based newspaper Wen Wei Po reported on Thursday.

"Exodus" has been nominated for seven awards in the festival, including best film, director, lead actor, and lead actress and others.

In the recent years, Hong Kong films have received many awards on international film festivals. This time, showing of the film on the festival received enthusiastic standing ovation, which was rewarding for both Ho-Cheung Pang and Irene Wan.

Spain Film Festival offers prizes with every award, with the highest up to around one million Hong Kong Dollars. Ho-Cheung Pang said it would be ideal to receive rewards as directing films isn't easy in Hong Kong.

Meanwhile, it's the first time for Irene Wang, a famous film star in Hong Kong, to attend Spain Film Festival. When referring to her nomination for lead actress, she said she would stay cool.

Although far away from Hong Kong, many Chinese people recognized Irene Wang, which surprised her a lot.
